HOLY HELL WHAT DID I JUST READ?
all packed into 262 pages. Fucking…Epic.
He lied. I lied. Any love that starts out under a lie is bound to kill you
And so it begins…I am glad that I decided to read this first before starting the trilogy. If the other three are anything like this one I am in for a roller coaster of a ride!
Immediately I feel in love with Eden. Driven by revenge she sought out the man that disfigured her a child only to be driven into the arms of his right hand man Javier.
I felt like I was offering my vagina up on a wooden platter. Talk about heading into the unknown.
As a member of the Mexican drug cartel he is vicious, intense and well intense is the best word for him. He is strikingly handsome but deadly and Eden knows she must tread softly around this one but her body and heart are making her do just the opposite.
“I could never forget your voice. You sound like an angel who’s gotten her wings dirty.”
Together they are a ticking time bomb full of lies and deceit waiting to explode, leaving just ashes and heartache behind.
“You know.” he began, voice low and full, “if you were to ever leave me, I’d come looking for you on every street.”
4 Crazy Explosive Beautiful Stars!!!
From the author of my all time favorite book The Edge of Nenver comes a shocking romantic thriller that leaves you staying up till the wee hours of the night not wanting to put it down! What a roller coaster ride!!!
One can not help but be drawn to Sarai from the beginning. Her strength and beauty captivate you. Such a beautiful story filled with action and suspense that only Redmerski can deliver.
Beautiful but defeated and damaged. Damaged for the rest of her life and no amount of emotional mutilation will ever fully give her back her innocence. The girl is a ticking time bomb, a danger to herself and very possibly to others. I wasn’t sure before, but now I know that she is more unstable than I ever could have imagined. And because she is so skilled at hiding it, not only from me but also from herself, she is more dangerous than I am. I am discipline. Sarai is rage.
Victor is hardass at first being used to not showing emotion. He is a hardcore killer but cannot find it in him to kill Sarai. She melts his barrier, she is lava to his ice.
I stand silent and still at the arched entryway leading into the piano room. And I watch her unlike I’ve ever watched her before. She owns me in this moment.
I am soooooo greatly anticipating reading the second installment in The Company of Killers installment.
In the few seconds he stood gazing at her beauty, he battled with himself. His urges, he knew from experience, could be overpowering. The last thing he wanted was to scare away this delicate butterfly he had temporary captured.
WOW NOW WHAT A WAY TO START A BOOK!!!!!….but what the hell happened the second half?????
I seriously had a case of dejavu in this story. I was praying “please be a vampire, please be a vampire, please be a vampire…sigh…but alas he was a RICH DOMINEERING BILLIONAIRE…BOOOOO That ship has sailed a long time ago! Ok Ok so has vampires but they at least have immortality to look forward to hehe.
Emily did nail it on the head when she described Tanner… *swoon*. Dark hair, blue eyes…..LOVE LOVE LOVE when I get to showcase my favorite…Ian Somerhalder….sigh.
I mean helloooooo stalk much????
I really really really wanted to give this 5 stars but I’m exhausted with the 20 something virgins and the rich handsome bachelors. I have not given up hope with this series though because Emily has a way of captivating her audience even in a novella.
Crossing fingers here.
Was graciously given this ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.
4 awesome fantastic stars
I will admit when I read the book description I was a little skeptical. Yes I felt sorry for Lizzie in book one but I didn’t know if I would be able to connect with her…..well I was wrong.
First it starts off with Tony. He is a eleven year old runaway that Deena soon discovers is her brother Anthony’s forgotten child. Tak and Deena adopt him but they struggle to all fit into the roll of “happy family”.
“Well, he’s your son now. For better or worse. And as I’ve found, we often must get through the worst with ours sons to enjoy the best.”
Meet Lizzie Hammond. She is beautiful, she is moody, she is a prostitute and a drug addict. She is also Deena sister and Tak and Kenji’s sister in law
Now we know Kenji Tanaka from book one but he was just a kid. He is still struggling to fit into the architectural world. When Lizzie walks in his office one afternoon he decides to ask her to the movies and had no idea he would be a addict too. Addicted to her.
After Lizzie gets out of rehab Kenji insists that she move in with him. Their romance blossoms BUT yep you guessed it…the family hates it! You will love reading how these two work it out.
You get plenty of past characters in this book as well as feel Deena’s struggles of dealing with her past demons.
Love the character development in this one. Will look forward to future reads from Shewanda.
Got this ARC from Read It & Reap for a fair and honest review. Thank you Shewanda Pugh for giving me the opportunity
4.5 Awesome Stars!!!
You all know the story. Two people meet and fall in love. But what if society told you that you could never be together…
If you were Deena Hammond and Takisum Tankaka you save to hell with the world and do it anyway!!!!
Meet Deena Hammond. A insecure biracial woman from a very strong rooted African American family. She is struggling to find her place in the family and has always felt out of place.
She is beautiful.
She was free
She was Deena.
Now meet Tak. He is from a very successful Japanese family. He is an artist. He is confident. He is blown away by Deena and can’t get her out of his mind.
They cannot resist the pull to each other so start a fly by the seat of your pants love affair and hide it from Tak’s father (aka Deena’s boss) for three years.
But what if a hidden love affair was not enough? Do they risk everything to be together?
“I love you, Dee. I’ve never doubted that you were the woman for me.”
Well done Shewanda Pugh. I loved the different POVs as well as they vulnerability you can show in your characters. You will hate them one chapter and feel sorry for them in the next.
Can’t wait to start reading book two!!!!
This book was all about the Big O and OOOOOOOOO did I love it!
I could feel the chemistry between Carline and Simon shooting off the pages through my hands to all different and inappropriate places of my body.
Alice Clayton you are a God. You had me rolling on more than one
“Get your ass over here you motherfuckin movie pusher!!
and that last chapter was EPIC…I mean who would have thought about that???
Purina, Wallbanger, Pink nightie girl…OMG at the name calling in this book lol but then again no wonder Simon was smitten.
All in all it was a very enjoyable read and I will be adding all Alice’s books to my “must read” list!
This book ruined me. I can’t get it out of my head. THE BEST LOVE STORY I HAVE EVER READ.
SO GOT AHEAD GRAB YOUR HANKIE, YOUR VIBRATOR AND MAKE A STRONG POT OF COFFEE BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO NEED ALL OF THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
Whew first off what a ride. I cried, I laughed…the people at the gym probably thought I was a crazy person bawling my eyes out on the bicycle.
We start off with Cam, a 20 year old girl who has been dealt a shitty hand. Her first love died in a car crash at 16, her brother is in prison and her friend just told her to take a flying hiatus. Loves country folk music and keeping her hair in braids and decides one day that she has had enough and hops on a bus to Idaho.
I think Tamsin Egerton makes a perfect Cam
In walks in Andrew who happens to hop on that same bus to Wyoming to see his dying father.
I think a young Tom Welling
Fist off the chemistry is dynamic. It reminds me of the first time I fell in love….the way that the author can put you in the story takes my breath away.
Their love for each other is amazing and you are like come on get on with it already….you two are made for each other!!!!
My heart goes out for these two and I LOVED LOVED LOVED the ending.
So run don’t walk to get this book and start reading it.
