It took me a long time to read this book. I guess you could say I was savoring it.
Addison again your words haunt me, seep into me where I can not feel or think of anything else.
Skya actually warmed up to me in this one. Again I think Logan and Gage are pathetic in following her around like a puppy dog but the moments they shared was bitter sweet.
Marshall on the other hand……..YIKES that man is sexy as hell.
Sadly I feel this series should have ended a few books ago. I am looking forward to the adult series to follow (I know I’m a gluten for punishment). I blame Marshall.
Can’t wait to read more about Laken and Coop in their series as well.
Thank you Allison for an outstanding series!
Was graciously given this ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.
4 awesome fantastic stars
I will admit when I read the book description I was a little skeptical. Yes I felt sorry for Lizzie in book one but I didn’t know if I would be able to connect with her…..well I was wrong.
First it starts off with Tony. He is a eleven year old runaway that Deena soon discovers is her brother Anthony’s forgotten child. Tak and Deena adopt him but they struggle to all fit into the roll of “happy family”.
“Well, he’s your son now. For better or worse. And as I’ve found, we often must get through the worst with ours sons to enjoy the best.”
Meet Lizzie Hammond. She is beautiful, she is moody, she is a prostitute and a drug addict. She is also Deena sister and Tak and Kenji’s sister in law
Now we know Kenji Tanaka from book one but he was just a kid. He is still struggling to fit into the architectural world. When Lizzie walks in his office one afternoon he decides to ask her to the movies and had no idea he would be a addict too. Addicted to her.
After Lizzie gets out of rehab Kenji insists that she move in with him. Their romance blossoms BUT yep you guessed it…the family hates it! You will love reading how these two work it out.
You get plenty of past characters in this book as well as feel Deena’s struggles of dealing with her past demons.
Love the character development in this one. Will look forward to future reads from Shewanda.
Got this ARC from Read It & Reap for a fair and honest review. Thank you Shewanda Pugh for giving me the opportunity
4.5 Awesome Stars!!!
You all know the story. Two people meet and fall in love. But what if society told you that you could never be together…
If you were Deena Hammond and Takisum Tankaka you save to hell with the world and do it anyway!!!!
Meet Deena Hammond. A insecure biracial woman from a very strong rooted African American family. She is struggling to find her place in the family and has always felt out of place.
She is beautiful.
She was free
She was Deena.
Now meet Tak. He is from a very successful Japanese family. He is an artist. He is confident. He is blown away by Deena and can’t get her out of his mind.
They cannot resist the pull to each other so start a fly by the seat of your pants love affair and hide it from Tak’s father (aka Deena’s boss) for three years.
But what if a hidden love affair was not enough? Do they risk everything to be together?
“I love you, Dee. I’ve never doubted that you were the woman for me.”
Well done Shewanda Pugh. I loved the different POVs as well as they vulnerability you can show in your characters. You will hate them one chapter and feel sorry for them in the next.
Can’t wait to start reading book two!!!!
This book was all about the Big O and OOOOOOOOO did I love it!
I could feel the chemistry between Carline and Simon shooting off the pages through my hands to all different and inappropriate places of my body.
Alice Clayton you are a God. You had me rolling on more than one
“Get your ass over here you motherfuckin movie pusher!!
and that last chapter was EPIC…I mean who would have thought about that???
Purina, Wallbanger, Pink nightie girl…OMG at the name calling in this book lol but then again no wonder Simon was smitten.
All in all it was a very enjoyable read and I will be adding all Alice’s books to my “must read” list!
Oh how I have missed Suzanne’s sense of humor. This book stroked my funny and pleasure bone at the same time!!!!!
“Give me a number between one and twenty.”
Unable to see where this is going, she shrugged. “Eleven.”
“You lose. Now strip off your clothes.”
“Dante’s about to Google my Yahoo and Twitter my cli–“
lol Dominic had me rolling several times too!
Jamie and Dante’s story was sweet, funny and very erotic. You fall in love with them while they fall in love with eachother.
AND there is plenty of Taryn and Trey….lol and Greta to leave you highly anticipating the next chapter.
I had to share this this part about Taryn and the baby.
“No, I’m done! I’m tired, I’m sweaty, I’m in agony, and why do I feel like I need to shit?”
“It’s totally natural to feel that way,” said Grace in a placatory, calming voice. “Some women even have one during labor.”
“What?” The word dripped with horror. “Women can shit when they’re in labor? Tell me that won’t happen to me! Don’t you let me shit, Grace!”
Please Please PLEASE Suzanne carry on with this series! I would really hope to see a book about each character (kinda like a shifter version of Black Dagger Brotherhood…yum!)….maybe oh I don’t know Nick, Shayla, Nick, Shayla, Nick, Shayla!!! *crossing fingers*
This book ruined me. I can’t get it out of my head. THE BEST LOVE STORY I HAVE EVER READ.
SO GOT AHEAD GRAB YOUR HANKIE, YOUR VIBRATOR AND MAKE A STRONG POT OF COFFEE BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO NEED ALL OF THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
Whew first off what a ride. I cried, I laughed…the people at the gym probably thought I was a crazy person bawling my eyes out on the bicycle.
We start off with Cam, a 20 year old girl who has been dealt a shitty hand. Her first love died in a car crash at 16, her brother is in prison and her friend just told her to take a flying hiatus. Loves country folk music and keeping her hair in braids and decides one day that she has had enough and hops on a bus to Idaho.
I think Tamsin Egerton makes a perfect Cam
In walks in Andrew who happens to hop on that same bus to Wyoming to see his dying father.
I think a young Tom Welling
Fist off the chemistry is dynamic. It reminds me of the first time I fell in love….the way that the author can put you in the story takes my breath away.
Their love for each other is amazing and you are like come on get on with it already….you two are made for each other!!!!
My heart goes out for these two and I LOVED LOVED LOVED the ending.
So run don’t walk to get this book and start reading it.
FUCK YEAH!!!! NOW THAT IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!!!! LADIES KEEP YOUR VIBRATORS ON STAND BY FOR THIS ONE!!!
Let me start off by saying Suzanne Wright I want to permanently embed myself in your brain….wow woman you have quite the imagination!!!!
I can safely say that Taryn is my favorite female character to date. She is strong, smart and spunky….omg I was laughing so hard at her witty comebacks…
“I’m not tired. I’m just checking my eyelids for holes. It could take a while”
“Is there no way you could just pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow”
AND DOMINIC lol I love love love his cheesy pickup lines…“He motioned with one finger for her to go to where he was on the end of the chaise. Rolling her eyes, she walked over and sighed.
He smiled. “I just made you come with one finger. Imagine what I could do with my whole hand.”
Both Taryn and Trey’s story captivated me. The sex sizzled and the character building was on point….AND the orgy scene omg! Even though it was a bit out of character for Trey to just hand over his girl I still loved reading it (had to refresh the batteries lol)
Ok so I really can’t think of who Trey looks like so I added Joe just for good measure because he is still my favorite wolf! hehe
I CAN’T CAN’T CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT INSTALLMENT!!!
