Raw…gritty…moving. This book had me from the very first pages. The characters are realistic and the hero shows so many layers you have no idea what to expect one page to the next.
Henry is broken and as you get deeper and deeper into the story you see just how broken he really is. Let me tell you. It surprised the hell out of me! But wouldn’t you after witnessing your father murder your family?
Henry loved Helen, his terminally ill sister. They witnessed their parents struggles with money and heard the constant fighting. On one fateful night his dad snaps. Killing everyone he has ever loved and almost ending Henry’s life in the process.
Now some years later he still bares the scars of that night. His only constant is his family and his loving wife, Leesa. She knows him, she gets him. Almost to the point of insanity but you just have to read the story to find out what I’m talking about.
Being a best selling author he travels to Blue Hill in hopes the setting will help him finish his latest book. He quickly realizes that his main character in his book, Eli, would have a field day in Blue Hill. The towns people are the perfect setting for a serial killer.
The womanizing Mayor, the whore daughter of the sheriff…but when people start coming up dead all eyes are on him.
I’m not going to lie there was some crazy twisty stuff in this story. The type that makes your skin crawl. Trust me it’s worth it. There is SOOOO much I didn’t disclose because I didn’t want to ruin the story but YOU MUST read it. It’s truly a work of fictional art..
Favorite Scene: The hotel room with his wife.
She fishes me out every time. Her love and strength hold me up when I no longer have the mental capacity to do it myself.
