It all started with a pinky swear…
Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she’s known him.
Beautiful, funny and an ambitious businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known her.
But some relationships can’t be boxed, can’t be classified, can’t be tamed.
Back in their mid-twenties and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them are in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty.
It sounds like fun and games but as the years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.
Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line.
The pact is about to change everything.

And to think Karina wrote this while on vacation! Seriously, ridiculously, inanely good.
This is not her usual gritty writing style. This is a story of about love, about second chances and about having fate step in and make you realize that it was right in front of you all along.
Linden had my heart from the minute I realized he had a Scottish accent and I loved Stephanie’s care free attitude, changing her hair color to suite her current mood.
Watching them evolve from the friend zone to the forever zone was beautiful. Of course they had many trials and trepidations like many couples do. But they must realize if it’s worth it. Friendships get broken, new ones are created and many many heartfelt moments that just make you want to hug a stuffed animal.
“Linden, There is a space in my chest that I’ve never noticed before. It’s like, all this time, I’ve had a whole other heart in there and that heart holds a whole other world. I never really noticed it because it was hidden. It wasn’t activated. It wasn’t shining and so I couldn’t see it. But now it is. You’ve made it shine, Linden.”
Karina’s writing has such a profound way of touching your soul. It’s so utterly breathtaking that you find yourself weeping, letting the words just consume you.
